My baby girl needs some stuff { PV Nolan }

Last night, I was a good night for me. It seems that when you're nice and you're working hard, you can have everything. So, yesterday, I got more money than I was expecting, which means that I'm able to go to the mall and buy some things for Mackenzie, my little baby girl. Maybe I could keep it for me, but for me, it was impossible. Mackenzie is growing up every day, she needs some new clothes, and I don’t know when I’ll have another occasion like this to buy her some clothes, because for the other things, she has almost everything. Anyway, I decided that today, I will go to the mall with Mackenzie, having a good time with my little princess, and give her something new.

I got Mackenzie ready for this little outside activity, something I can’t do every day with her, unfortunately. She was so cute with her little white dress, her pink vest to keep her warm, and this little hat that one of my friends bought her. Me, I was wearing a jean and a simple t-shirt, that’s it. Mackenzie was not looking like my daughter in her outfit – even if she’s exactly like me when I was a baby -, but I don’t care. Seeing her dressed up like a little princess, here was my happiness. I was living close to the mall, so I put Mackenzie in her baby-buggy, and go outside with her. For now, everything was perfect.

Ten minutes after, we arrived at the shopping center. First idea? Go the baby store; buy some new clothes for Mackenzie. But, while we were walking into the mall, my little girl started crying. She was hungry. I cannot keep going like this while she’s crying, so I had to found a bench to sit down and give her a milk bottle that I was keeping in a bag. There were a lot of people in the mall, so the benches were all taken. Mackenzie was crying louder, so, when I saw only one person on a bench, I didn’t look at the person, and I asked:

- Excuse me, can I sit there ? My daughter is crying…

Nolan came regularly to the shopping mall. It had full of stores there but his favourite store was the one of shoes. It was the heaven for him. Converse of all kinds offered themselves to him. When he had purchased, he liked to take a drink with a something to eat. He always sat down on the same bench. The one who given onto an immense plate glass window. He contemplated people to cross, quarrel, to run to make their shopping.

Suddenly he heard a baby to cry far off. He says himself : like finally has there not that I who in hunger. His thought amused him. From time it really seemed to be somewhere else. He heard them cry for the baby get closer. Poor baby thought of Nolan he really has to be hungry to roar like that!

Then suddenly he heard :

- Excuse me, can I sit there ? My daughter is crying…

He is surprised. It was so plunged into its thoughts that he had completely left the reality. He was afraid that his reaction made the young mother run away . He turned around at once towards the young woman and is even more surprised by seeing her.
He did not make a mistake. It was good Melissa. He had recognized him even if she had no same make-up and the same holding. It is even surprised seeing her to the shopping mall. He had never seen him previously or he had not paid attention. She was so different. He found her even very charming.

Of course you can sit down, he answered.

He is amazed by himself. He had been on first-name terms with her while he didn’t even know her. He felt vague. He hoped that Mélinda not bad took him and that she recognized him.

That she is beautifull launched. How is she called?

When Mackenzie was crying, I wasn’t care about me anymore for a while. The only thing that matters for me in those kinds of moments, it’s making Mackenzie happy, make her stop crying. Not that I’m ashamed when she’s crying, but I don’t want to see her unhappy. The only thing that I want for her right now, even she’s only three weeks old and she don’t even see what I’m doing for her, it’s her happiness. I asked somebody if I can sit next to this person to give her what she’s waiting for, and I think that if this person would said no, I sit there anyway. But, fortunately, this person said yes, and it’s when I heard his voice that I recognized this person, even if I don’t know him a lot. It was Nolan, he’s working at the bar at Diamond Hotel, where I was working too.

- Thanks, thanks a lot !

Then, I sat down on the bench and took in the bag with Mackenzie’s stuff a little bottle filled of milk. It looked for the temperature, it was good. Right after, I took Mackenzie in her baby-buggy, placed her in my arms, and gave her the bottle. She stopped crying and started to drink. I was right, she was hungry. I was looking at her, smiling, when Nolan told me that it was a beautiful baby. I smiled to him. He was right, Mackenzie was wonderful, but I like to hear it from other people, not being the only one to think this way. He asked me what was her name, I said:

- Thank you ! Her name is Mackenzie.

I thought that it must be weird for Nolan to see me with a baby in my arms, and a so young baby! If I was having a normal job, I would not even work right now. I would be with my daughter for a year, even more. But, I don’t have a normal job, I don’t have any advantages or some stuff that can give me money while I’m taking care of my baby. Anyway, while Mackenzie was drinking, I asked:

- So, you’re not working today ?

Nolan saw that Melissa felt ill at ease. She had eyes riveted on her baby and she did not dare to look at his in eyes. He is satisfied when she answered her question. Her baby was really magnificent a real small angel without wings. Mackenzie was a first name which went to her perfectly.

He did not know too much what to say to Mélissa, it was the first time when he saw itself except the work and he had taken time never really to speak to her. And then, Nolan was very sad for the girl. He would have liked he could help her mother. Which sadness she had to feel. A pitiful job, to touch what 10 unfortunates dollars of tip ?!

The world is inequitable, thought Nolan.

Nolan had completely left in his thoughts. He had completely forgotten to answer Mélissa who waited certainly for an answer.

Hem not I did not work today. It is my day off. You either you did not work on what I see !

Of which big power of deduction Nolan he thought. Nolan didn't know what to say to her. He didn't expect to see her and especially at this moment. He might look for no sentence came to her, no subject of conversation. He felt pitiful, he was ashamed of him. Then suddenly, he says :

Hem, and otherwise you are going to go where having given to her to eat ?

Was it an uncalled-for question? He did not hope but he goes needed to find a subject of conversation. Then he says:

You know the store of shoes, battles weas ?

But which idiot, her had to laugh at it royally of the store of shoes. Nolan set of shame to go to leave when suddenly …

Since Mackenzie was part of my life, I had to work way more than before, just to be able to make both of us live. Everything you need for a baby, even if I found some ways to save some money on it, it stills very expensive. So, I was not able to have two days of break in a row. Right now, I was working almost everyday, sometimes during the day, sometimes when the evening was coming. Tonight, I was starting to work around 8 p.m. At least, I was able to spend some time with my daughter before to go to work. While I was thinking about it, I looked at her, she was looking so happy right now. I smiled, than I answered to Nolan by saying:

- Unfortunatly, I have to work tonight. The good news is that I can have my daughter all day long, at least.

And maybe I won't be all alone for this day, because Nolan seemed to be alone, and he even asked me if I had something to do after my daughter was done eating. For me, I was having no problem shopping with Nolan for while. More than that, I was pretty sure we could be able to have a good time, because I didn't know him a lot, but I can see that he's kind of nice. I was ready to answer, but he didn't let me the time do to it, and asked me if I knew a shoe store in the mall. He was about to leave, I felt it, so I said:

- Yeah, I know where this is. I was supposed to go buy some stuff for Mackenzie, but if you want to, we can stop by. Of course, if you want to be with us, I'm having all my day.

While I was saying this, I saw that Mackenzie was done eating. I kept her in my arms, put the bottle in the bag, and then, stand up, waiting for Nolan's answer.

Nolan felt ridiculous suddenly. He didn't know what to make. How had he to dare to ask him such questions?! Fortunately Melissa was not irritated and had answered him questions with a lot of kindness. He knew Melissa only of view and it was not the opinion that he had been made of her. He regretted now having judged it on his appearance and on her job. By seeing her he understood henceforth why Melissa was obliged to make a so disgusting job. It was necessary to feed his daughter and she liked too much her daughter to leave her job.

Nolan was satisfied he who thought of crossing his only day he had finally of the company and he already knew that after noon would be excellent. He didn't know why but he knew that he could rely on Melissa and that it was an honest woman. That is why he considered good to go shopping with her today. Seeing that Mackenzie had finished its feeding-bottle, Nolan said :

What store do you want to begin ?

Nolan was so happy to be able to speak with her that the stores which they would make raised her no problem. And then he was important for him to help Mélissa to find attractive clothes for Mackenzie. And so Nolan got up from the bench and waited that Mélissa chooses a store. He was really impatient to see how after noon go to take place.

When Nolan asked me where I wanted to go first, I saw that I'll have to review my idea of my day with my baby girl. At first, my idea was to go at the baby store with Mackenzie to buy her some new clothes. She's only three weeks old, of course she'll grow up and get bigger, every baby do. For me, this store was enough. I knew that I was not able to pay myself some new clothes, even if mine were pretty old. After all, my job was to get undress in front of people, right ? But now, I know that Nolan wants to see some shoes store, so why not ?

- As you want. I just have to go to the baby store for some new clothes for Mackenzie. We can go there, and after, we can go see this store you were talking about ?

Mackenzie was falling asleep, it was the perfect moment to go to the store. So, we chose this way, and arrived to the baby store a couple of minutes after. I knew, at the moment we entered the baby store, that every person working in this store will be after me, especially because I had Mackenzie sleeping in her buddy. I don't want to be arrogant or something, but I have to say that she's beautiful. And I was so proud of the outfit that I chose for her, she was really looking like a princess. I talked a little bit with the employees, because they were asking me what was my daughter's name, how old was she. Then, after a couple of minutes, they left me alone with Nolan, telling me that if I need some help, I just have to ask them. I said:

- I'm sorry, I'm pretty sure you're kind of... wasting your time out there...

I knew that Nolan doesn't have kids. If yes, I didn't know about it at all. I know that being in a baby store when you don't have a baby, it's not really fun. For me, it was so nice, because I always tought that those outfits for the babies were so cute ! I was starting looking at the clothes, and I didn't know what to chose, because there were so many things I want to buy for my princess, but I just can't.
